Geneva AI Initiative

The Geneva AI Initiative empowers international organizations and NGOs in Geneva with cutting-edge AI expertise. By connecting them with EPFL’s top AI researchers and other experts, the initiative strengthens their operations and accelerates their impact.

Through calls for proposals, the EPFL AI Center seeks innovative AI solutions to address critical challenges in humanitarian aid, human rights, environmental protection, public health, economic development, peace, and education.

Applicants don’t need AI technical skills but must show partnerships, either with EPFL or elsewhere, to bridge this gap. Projects should emphasize responsible AI, have a fast path to implementation, and deliver clear, measurable outcomes.

“In a world of urgent global challenges and rapid AI advancements, the Geneva AI Initiative drives meaningful progress. It invites visionary leaders, organizations, and innovators to harness AI’s transformative power to tackle complex issues and deliver lasting change. By connecting cutting-edge AI expertise with the needs of international organizations, the initiative helps unlock new possibilities, improve decisions, and achieve tangible results that benefit society.”

Prof. Marcel Salathé, co-director of the EPFL AI Center

The call for proposals is open until 31 January 2025 (17:00 CET)
