Swisscom is strengthening its commitment to the development of artificial intelligence in Switzerland as a member of the Swiss National AI Institute (SNAI) of EPFL and ETH Zurich. As one of the first industry partners, Swisscom supports the development of innovative, reliable, and trustworthy AI solutions for the Swiss economy, combining access to leading research and models deployed on the SwissAI infrastructure.

Audemars Piguet joins as an industry partner to explore the potential of artificial intelligence across manufacturing, operations, and customer experience, combining its tradition of craftsmanship and innovation with cutting-edge research.

Oracle Corporation is a U.S.-based multinational technology company that provides database software, enterprise applications, and cloud infrastructure and hardware.

AITHYRA and the EPFL AI Center collaborate to advance research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and molecular science. The partnership focuses on areas such as computational biology, protein design, and generative AI for drug discovery, strengthening cross-institutional research and knowledge exchange to accelerate AI-driven scientific innovation.

Institutions & academic networks

The EPFL AI Center hosts the ELLIS Unit Lausanne, part of the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS), a pan-European network of excellence in artificial intelligence. The unit brings together researchers across disciplines to advance fundamental AI research, foster education and collaboration, and strengthen Europe’s leadership in machine learning and AI innovation.

The EPFL AI Center engages with Stanford HAI through a collaboration established under the Swiss National AI Institute (SNAI), jointly led by EPFL and ETH Zurich. The partnership supports long-term collaboration in AI research and education, with a focus on large-scale foundation models and their societal impact, strengthening academia’s role in advancing open and responsible AI.

The National University of Singapore (NUS) supports innovation, startups, and industry partnerships from its base in Singapore.

The EuroTech Universities Alliance brings together six leading European universities of science and technology to strengthen research, innovation, and education. As one of its member institutions, EPFL contributes to this collaboration aimed at building a strong, sustainable, sovereign, and resilient Europe while addressing major societal challenges.

The EPFL AI Center collaborates closely with the ETH AI Center to advance artificial intelligence research and innovation in Switzerland. Through joint initiatives such as the Swiss AI Initiative and the Swiss National AI Institute (SNAI), the two centers bring together researchers, infrastructure, and expertise to develop open, trustworthy AI and strengthen Switzerland’s position as a global hub for AI research.

The EPFL AI Center collaborates with the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS) primarily through the Swiss AI Initiative. CSCS provides the high-performance computing infrastructure needed to train large-scale AI models and support cutting-edge research across Switzerland’s AI ecosystem.

EPFL is a founding member of the International Computation and AI Network (ICAIN), a global initiative that aims to broaden access to computing infrastructure, data, and AI expertise. By bringing together academia, public institutions, and international partners, ICAIN supports collaborative research and promotes more equitable access to AI resources worldwide.
